May 24 through May 31, 2020: Lifestyle Medicine Week is a national celebration of the fastest growing field of medicine. This week brings focus to the six pillars of Lifestyle health, raises awareness around the need for health professional education and improves support for policy change that sustains value-based care and patient empowerment.

Lifestyle Medicine is the use of evidence-based therapeutic approaches by physicians, nurses, other allied health professionals and health coaches, to treat, reverse, and prevent chronic disease. Approaches such as a whole-food, plant-predominant dietary lifestyle, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, stress management,avoiding use of risky substances, social connectedness to address the root causes of disease.
